NexGen facilitates an annual Summer Student Program that provides students from the local communities an opportunity to gain vital experience and a broader understanding of possible career options upon the completion of their academic careers. There are two distinct components to the program: one tailored to high-school students; the other geared towards post-secondary students. The program allows students to experience a variety of industry-specific vocations, ranging from camp maintenance, accounting, to surveying, to industrial cooking and beyond.

Through a partnership with the Breakfast Club of Canada, healthy breakfasts are made available for over 1,100 students in three local schools. The program provides nutritious meals so students can focus on their learning experience and staff to focus on student education.

NexGen is an active sponsor in a variety of athletic partnerships in the community closest to the project site and the broader province of Saskatchewan. Through these initiatives, NexGen is working to empower youth with confidence and awareness of the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle, as well as supporting young leaders.

The NexGen Bursary Program aids students who are without a primary source of funding for their post- secondary education. Financial support is provided to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and community stewardship.

In partnership with the Meadow Lake Humane Society, NexGen has established a Dog Fostering Program at Rook I. NexGen has fostered over 30 dogs while they await adoption by their 'forever' families. This program allows the dogs to enjoy the great outdoors and develop social skills until they transition to a permanent home.
